I went to Barnes and Nobles looking for literary magazines and I was blown away. B&N had a total of four lit mags stocked—this next to five rows for cat fanciers and a very respectable art section. I have to say, I can’t blame them. Many of the arid, alienating un-story, stories are like reading science journals when you’re looking for religion.
